“We got our first lot of Tornado gates 14 years ago. I had seen them on a property in the South Island while down at the stag sales.
They are strong and can take a decent hit from stags during the roar which the other lighter brands just can't handle. We were forever straightening gates out, haven't had to since.
Can thoroughly recommend these to anyone needing new gates.”
- Malcolm Cane.
“Over the years we have used Tornado gates on several occasions. With the cattle yards upgrade Steve came up and measured the gates exactly with the gudgeon lugs placed so they will swing back and the catches as required. We finished with good strong gates correctly placed standing the test of time.”
- Colin Guild, Quartz Hill Station, Canterbury.
“We have many Tornado deer gates on our property here at Peel Forest Estate. We are running over 10,000 deer so the gates need to be strong, reliable gates that don’t break under any pressure. We don’t have any hesitation recommending these gates to anyone wanting to give them a go.”
- Mark Tapley, Peel Forest Estate.
“We have used Tornado Industries for various projects over the last ten years and have found them particularly professional to deal with. The staff are friendly and communicate well but most importantly they have great products. The products are always exactly as we specify them and are built to last. We thoroughly recommend Tornado Industries! ”
- Andrew Rutherford, Melrose North Canterbury.
“We have been buying Tornado Cattle Gates for a long time now. Prior to using the Tornado cattle gates we regularly replaced gates that were designed for sheep, but we run 1100 cattle as well as 22,000 sheep. The cattle gates are strong, well made and have stood the test of time and we won't buy any other type or brand. We have a 52 foot gateway that is made up of 2 x 14 foot gates each with a 12 foot gate swung off each. They are supported by sitting on a post at the centre when closed and fold back on themselves and against the fence when they are open. Tornado have also made us 16 foot cattle gates at different times. We have also noticed that the neighbours are now buying the same gates as us! ”
- Andrew and Tracy Paterson - Matakanui Station, Central Otago
“Nearly 20 years ago, I talked with Steve at Tornado Products about a deer/cattle gate design we were making for ourselves at Haldon Station. Problem was we could not buy a decent gate that would stand up to a bit of pressure without bending or breaking. Tornado started making the ‘Haldon’ design gates for us and we now have that product we require. These gates are all very well made and do stand the test of time. They really are a quality product and we don’t buy anything else. It’s the little extras that Tornado put into these gates that make them the best!”
- Paddy Boyd, Manager/Director, Haldon Station Ltd
“We have been dealing with Steve Nash and his team at Tornado Industries for 10 plus years. They provide excellent customer service and we have found their Deer gates to be super strong and really well made – perfect for cattle and stags. I would recommend their gates to anyone who wants to hang a very well made gate that will last”
- Dale Gillbert Glenfiddich Partnership Bay of Plenty
“With these Brock Deer gates , I no longer have to spend time repairing wrecked netting gates during the roar. The extra pipe makes strong, smart gates which don't bend from stag behaviour. I've never had to repair a single one in over 5 years. Time is money, a brilliant design, you'll appreciate the little extra investment. Do the job once, do it right. ”
- Eddie Brock
“We have been getting various farm gates from Steve, Georgia and the team at Tornado Industries since Steve came out to help Dad build a set of Cyclone sheep yards in the mid 90’s.The relationship has built since then with them being able to produce gates of any size to fit all of our needs with nothing ever being a hassle. We find all their gates to be very robust and of good quality. They also come with the advantage of knowing they are locally made.”
- Michael Sutherland, Opawa Farm Ltd, Clinton, South Otago
“For years we used gates that would be bent by cattle. In 2016 we used our first Tornado Heavy Diagonal Braced gates and solved the bent gate problem! Tornado Heavy Diagonal Braced gates are industrial and designed to take the knocks.”
- Peter, Linnburn Station Ltd, Paerau, Central Otago
“I have been using Tornado “economy” gates for decades. They are of consistent quality and competitively priced. Tornado are a friendly business and a pleasure to deal with”
